" But she vanished from his sight; and he became dumb, as one that is bound under a spell, and he strayed long in the woods, wild and wary as a beast, seeking for her..."
From "The Silmarillion" by J.R.R. Tolkien ------------------------------------------------------------------------ A small part of the Lay of Leithian, the tale of Beren and Lúthien by Tolkien. He sees her from afar, but cannot reach her, as if "a chain was upon his limbs". Until she sings and he is released from his bonds. This is Beren stalking his love. Another great story. Too many things to draw... Pen on paper, double page spread. Enjoy. |

Beren hidden in those shadows seems such a desperate figure. It gives a nice feeling to it.

Yes, he is desperate. Nowadays we would consider him a stalker and lock him up, 'there' he is a hopeless romantic who got his reward because of his persistance. I like hopeless romantics, I'm one too.
(a club of hopeless romantics?)

I almost pity the guy- he suffered much because of Luthien, but he never gave up. I don't know how that translates into modern life- they say romance is dead, but I dont believe that. It's just reformed- evolved and adapted to our way of life. We may not go around singing ballads and offering roses, but there are other things- like not giving up on the one you love, like Beren did. Even that can be consider romanticism. I think I'm a bit of a hopeless romantic as well.
Well,at least potential father-in-laws are a bit more talkative these days than Thingol was.

Yeah, Thingol I could do without. Luckily my in-laws are good folk.
Its alright about the ballad. Never liked bard classes in my RPGs anyway
Heh. They did not ask you to go crawiling into dungeons to bring some sort of legendary treasure, I take it, so I guess they're fine

I wanted to tell you that I have problems with viewing this picture - DA just doesn'r show it to me, never matter how I try. I tried to logout and view it from another account, but - with the same result...
I think there are some technical problems... Is there a way to see it in other place, then DA?... (
