Wish I was there...

Found some inspirational pics I used as ref. Intended as a water-study, grown into something more. Thought about putting in a fantasy element (figures, creatures, animals) but decided against it. This way it's open for interpretation. Let your mind decide it's location :)

I know where this is. Where would you place it?

what brushes do you use for the trees and moss on the rocks?

I am not a simple person. Though, not many people are simple. You think oracles can tell the future? Well you are wrong. Hamburgers can tell the future, and guava juice :D lol is the answer to the Universe. And don't get me started on Denmark! :ninjaeat:

I vary a lot. Usually I use big crude texture brushes and rough it in. Over that I add some foliage in a very fine setting to make it more mossy. Afterwards I just scratch in highlights and grasses with square and round brushes. Never with soft edges though.

This dude, who is one of my greatest heroes, uses a great variety. I use many of his brushes. Here's the link to his website. The brush set link is at the bottom: [link]

Enjoy!

This is stunning. I'm glad you left the creatures out. It lets people focus on the incredible details you've put in.

"Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door."
